Risa Garg is a Junior at Central High school, Philadelphia. These past two years, she has been working with a team at the graduate school of education to discuss and act on different social justice issues in her community, specifically South Asian students in the Philadelphia school district and their experiences. Risa is the president of a club called "Feminists of API minorities" at her school, they create spaces to discuss AAPI gender equity and the formation of racial and cultural identities, and have held many school wide events. She is the assistant editor and a journalist at the Bullhorn, a completely student - run newspaper in the Philadelphia area. In her free time, Risa also loves writing letters and creating art for local nursing homes in her area, as well as kickboxing and playing the piano.  She is really excited to work with Urbed to provide students with an equitable education in the Philadelphia school district.
