Are you a current high school student interested in Advocacy and Organizing Activism Events?...

The community engagement manager will work closely with every UrbEd department. This person is tasked with finding new ways to engage the community, attending community events, creating community databases, and coordinating UrbEd events. Other duties will include assisting with advertising programming and campaigns, creating advocacy guides, and executive the advocacy strategy. This position reports directly to the Director of Programs.

Job Description

  • Plan events in the city of Philadelphia related to UrbEd's mission, campaigns, and programming.
  • Develop relationships with youth leaders, students, school and district personnel, community members, clergy, and elected officials.
  • Attendance at city-wide action events (Our City Our Schools, School Board Meetings, City Council, etc)
  • Willingness to learn and adapt and assist with the development of UrbEd 
  • Attending a minimum of two staff meetings a week
  • Able to attend evening events and weekend events on occasion in person and virtually (Transportation Provided)
