From science leadership academy to being a future college graduate and impactful worker, miranda hopes to help lots of people in the future, even outside of urbEd, and live a prosperous life.

A Fishtown native

Miranda Sosa is currently a sophomore at Science Leadership Academy. Miranda is the Administrative Intern for UrbEd. Miranda experience before high school ended in her being accepted into Science Leadership Academy.

Miranda has started a unity club at her school, which focuses on bringing together the new school she will be co-locating with in the 2019-2020 school year; Ben Franklin High School. Miranda is looking forward to making it even bigger in the next few years. During her free time she enjoys exploring new places, volunteering in her school community, and participates in many sports including cross country, basketball, and softball.

She chose to work for UrbEd because she wanted to help people. Not many people are as fortunate as her to get a good education, and wants to help make sure they are. Education is very important and to her, as it shapes who you are and who you become. She believes in the idea that Philly needs fixing when it comes to it's education system, and we shouldn't let kids suffer because it doesn't have enough resources.

Here's Why I Love My Position As: Operations Intern

  • My favorite part of my job so far is just being able to start making a difference

  • The team is super nice and I am very excited to be working with everyone!

  • I am gaining a lot of valuable skills and being the Administrative Intern, and I have a lot more to learn

MY role model is my aunt. hERE'S WHY:

She has always been there for me and my family no matter what. I truly admire her perseverance throughout everything she faces, and how she never gives up. Along with that she is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met, and always puts a smile on my face.
