Are you a current high school student interested in Advocacy and Organizing Activism Events?...

The community engagement manager will work closely with every UrbEd department. This person is tasked with finding new ways to engage the community, attending community events, creating community databases, and coordinating UrbEd events. Other duties will include assisting with advertising programming and campaigns, creating advocacy guides, and executive the advocacy strategy. This position reports directly to the Director of Programs.

Monthly Salary: $500-$600/a month

Applications for the Community Outreach and Events Manager will be considered until July 23, 2021. Applications are considered as they are submitted, therefore it is best to get them in as soon as possible.

- Requirements

  • Applicant must be a current high school student
  • Applicant must be currently enrolled in a Philadelphia School
  • The Community Outreach and Events Manager is expected to dedicate 10 hours weekly.

- Responsibilities

  • Meeting once a week with the Department Director
  • Attending UrbEd Team Meetings
  • Assists with writing advocacy guides and presentations
  • Coordinate Events & Logistics with the programs department
  • Uilize Community Databases to increase impact
  • Oversee the Philly Youth Collective
  • Strategize and create new and engaging events relevant to UrbEd’s mission and campaigns
  • Effectively Communicate with the UrbEd team using virtual resources (ie. Slack, Email, Zoom…)
