Born and raised in historic Philadelphia, PA, Londyn Edwards, 19, is a freshman attending Drexel University as a Liberty Scholar. Although her future career choice is currently undecided, Londyn would love to partake in the arts full time. As a Black woman and student of the Philadelphia School District, Londyn has grown to become passionate about advocacy work when seeing the disparities between the education and school resources different groups of students receive. After joining the team in 2018, Londyn now serves as UrbEd’s Director of Communications and Partnerships, curating the organization’s digital content across platforms and fostering relationships with other local organizations in Philly. Outside of UrbEd, she further dedicates herself to all things youth by volunteering at the Wilma Theater in the youth sect of their education department. As she gets older, in college and beyond, Londyn hopes to continue working with and advocating for youth voices who don’t get heard as often as they should.
